nourishment

how you eat is how you relate to the world. if you are constantly finding yourself stuck in a box and feeling broken, you may be cramming yourself in a box that is too small for you. pain is an indication that you are following a path that is not in your Highest interest and by making another choice, yui may be relieved of the pain. You do not have to struggle, however, when you do, as you will (if you are human), notice the pain. do not use it as a reason to beat yourself down and further avoid the learning opportunity you are presented with. become the observer of your life, and see each day as an experiment. what works today, may open up possibilities for your future, and what is not working is simply an invitation to change.
so if you are eating in a manner that is not working for you, if you are trying something for a while, then feeling out of control, or feeling out of control and unwilling to change, perhaps take a step back and ask “is this how I want to live my life?” do i have relationships that feed me? am i pouring my heart into my work and receiving fulfillment from it? am i obsessed with food? or do i see food as excessive and put my work first? wherever you are, notice it. see where you are and take an inventory of what is and is not working in your life. how do you want to feel in your skin? what kind of relationships do you want to have? begin right now, where you are to give yourself the love you are looking to receive. if you want a significant other what is playful, adventurous, passionate and understanding, become that yourself.
be your own best friend. and start by feeding yourself according to these same principles. you may notice you want to lose weight and continually end up with the same excessive baggage weighing you down. you may be committed to struggling because of an old underlying committment that you made to protect yourself from harm. it is not likely you are able to live with an open heart all of the time, especially when you look around at all of the suffering in the world. people are basically terrified, running around like 5 year olds trying to get attention from a mother who is not there or trying to prove something, constantly feeling empty and reaching for something or someone to fill the void. and then you die, never actually getting there because whatever it is doesn’t really exist.
so neither does your perfect body. if you are trying to lose weight, how about trying to be healthy, and strive to develop lifelong habits? such as: liking what you see when you look in the mirror. if you’re like me, some days it is a struggle, and other days, i could stand there all day and smile at my reflection. whatever day it is for you, try acting as if you really like your reflection. try telling yourself that your body is in perfect condition to be in life today. surrender to what is looking back at you now and trust it is only going to get better as you adapt to a new way of living life based on your internal world.
so this box that you are putting yourself into, how does it feel? when you sit down to eat, do you feel restricted? do you take the time to feed yourself and are you grateful for each bite that goes into your mouth? at the same time, do you feel comforted by the relationships in your life? if you are reaching for food when you are not hungry, you may be looking for love in the wrong place. when was the last time you got a hug from a friend? our society is touch deprived, so much that people develop cancer and diabetes as protection from their pain. if you go for too long without loving relationships, your attitude may begin to change and depression is likely to occur. over an extended period of time, this will manifest as something deeper than you may even be noticing. pain may begin in your thoughts, and left unprocessed, will create stagnation in the body. too many cells left in one place for too long create disease and disorder in the body.nourishment
